Title: Narcissa Protective
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and associates own these characters. I am writing this story for fun and not profit.
Pairing: Narcissa/Lucius, Harry/Draco pre-slash
Content Notes: Angst, violence, manipulation, AU, crack
Rating: PG-13
Summary: As Harry and Draco head into their third year, Narcissa finds more and more varied uses for her skills than she ever knew she could. And if that includes intimidating Severus Snape, a werewolf, Sirius Black, and a rat…it’s not like this is this weirdest year she has ever had.
Author’s Notes: The AU of third year for the Narcissa series! This one is going to be a three-parter, most likely.

There's fires burning outside of the area. The smoke and ash are winding up here making it hazy and smelling like a barbecue - time to whip out Apocalypse Now remark. Seriously, I'm grateful to not having any pre-existing breathing issues or living near the fires. The heat's let up some (smoke and ash overcast helps cut the sun's power some)and my brain feels up to composing an entry.

1) Binge watched all available episodes of Blood Drive. Fat Elvis and Clown Dick, we hardly knew you. Rib Bone, cause you got a cute little doggie that needs caring for, I'm not counting you out yet. Aki and Julian, will you marry me?

2) Prime Day was a bust for me. The dream router I wanted never happened. I consoled myself with a 10lb bag of diatomaceous earth and a discounted for the day Criterion Collection dvd of Grey Gardens.

3) Wynonna Earp second season keeps getting better and better!

4) Read The Missing Ones: An absolutely gripping thriller with a jaw-dropping twist steaming pile of crap (How the hell did you ever make Detective Lottie you will never be Olivia Benson Parker Book 1, DEAR GODS, NO, NOT A SERIES). Why does it have so many frickin stars on Amazon and Goodreads???!!! To give you the tip of the shit-berg: Our so-called detective goes off by herself on foot (she frequently walks around alone during the investigation, and it's winter with a ton of snow and ice on the ground) from a crime scene. She gets mugged and nearly strangled, but goes home and waits to report it the next day???!!! Also victim blames one of the deceased right after mugger gets scared off. This is all within the span of a chapter and a half. Lucky book, you are on my kindle, so I can't throw you against the wall.

5) With American Gods done, canceled Starz monthly subscription and got one to Shudder.

6) Got Princess Jellyfish 5 yesterday.

7) Congratulations, 13th Doctor. Who writers, DON'T screw this up.

8) RIP George Romero and Martin Landau :(

9) Third season of Rick and Morty on July 30th.

10) Wubba Lubba Dub-Dub!

Title: Turns the World
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and associates own these characters. I am writing this story for fun and not profit.
Pairing: Harry/Lucius, background canon pairings mentioned
Rating: PG-13
Content Notes: Ignores epilogue, mild angst, present tense
Wordcount: 3600
Summary: After the war, Harry finds out just how exhausted he is. It’s kind of nice having Lucius Malfoy under house arrest instead of in Azkaban, so that Harry doesn’t have to deal with worries about him escaping or dying. And if no one else is willing to keep an eye on Lucius, well, Harry is. It’s almost restful, watching the way his and Lucius’s lives interlace.
Author’s Notes: A very quiet little one-shot.

Title: The Wolf in Waiting
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and associates own these characters. I am writing this story for fun and not profit.
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Rating: R
Content Notes: Creature fic (Werewolf Harry and Veela Draco), minor character deaths, mentions of gore, manipulation, mild angst, non-linear timeline
Wordcount: This part 3900
Summary: Harry has been trying for years to link Draco Malfoy to the assassinations that Harry knows he's committed--and fighting his own attraction at the same time. But Malfoy evades all of Harry's searches for evidence and continues to move in polite society, taunting and teasing Harry. Sooner or later, Harry's patience is going to snap.
Author's Notes: This is for an anonymous request that was originally made for Advent, about Harry being a werewolf and Hit Wizard, Draco being a Veela who’s linked to a series of murders, and them being drawn to each other despite themselves. This will be posted in two parts, with the second part tomorrow.

New Series and an Older Book

I just finished reading the start of another series (The Order of the Sanguines) called The Blood Gospel.

A soldier, a priest, and an archeologist walk into a bar... not really. They are all in Israel in an attempt to uncover the Blood Gospel, a book reportedly written by Christ in his own blood. And hey! The Bathory story is also woven into this story. There are vampires, called the Strigoi, and those called Sanguinists. The latter are priests that follow the church and drink a wine infused with Christs blood by special consecration or blessing, as opposed to human blood. This is all brought about by an old prophecy and the book ends before a new mission so I am assuming book 2 will pick right up.

Another book I am reading, published in 1887, is called Ten Days in a Mad-House written by a woman named Nellie Bly, a reporter, who fakes her way into an insane asylum in order to report her findings on the treatment of patients, etc... I instantly think Lana Winters from season 2 of American Horror Story.

Title: Last Lord of the Sun
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and associates own these characters. I am writing this story for fun and not profit.
Content Notes: Angst, AU, emotional manipulation, present tense
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Background mentions of Albus Dumbledore/Gellert Grindelwald; otherwise gen
Wordcount: This part 4600
Summary: AU. When Albus Dumbledore visits Wool’s Orphanage and sees the terror and rage in Tom Riddle, he decides he cannot leave the boy without a mentor. On the one hand, he may never make a Light wizard of him; on the other hand, he will keep him from going down the path of the Dark.
Author’s Notes: This is another of my July Celebration fics, and was born from reading a lot of fanfics that attribute Voldemort’s existence in part to Dumbledore’s failures, and wondering what would happen if he didn’t fail. It will be posted in two parts, and covers Tom’s first year.

Title: Quite an Education
Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling and associates own these characters. I am writing this story for fun and not profit.
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Content Notes: Voyeurism, exhibitionism, object insertion, some humiliation
Rating: R
Wordcount:
Summary: Draco knew that Potter had promised him something that would go beyond anything else they’d done together. He just wonders, as the moment gets closer and closer for Potter’s surprise to spring, if he should regret agreeing.
Author’s Notes: This is the sixth (and last) story in my Eighth-Year Professors series, and comes after "Kinesthetic Learners," "Lessons Returned," "Speaking Lessons," "Teacher by Example," and “Schooled.” It would be best to read all those stories first, so as to be familiar with the characters and situations.

And thanks for waiting and asking for this story, everyone. I know you waited a long time.
